Job summary

Humana is seeking a Principal Automation Engineer to define and scale enterprise-wide automation frameworks and AI-enabled testing capabilities. You will lead modernization of testing practices, mentor engineers, and partner with Engineering, Architecture, DevOps, and Product teams to accelerate delivery.

The role emphasizes automation-first testing, industry-standard frameworks, and AI-powered quality engineering to ensure speed, reliability, and secure software solutions across Humana.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• 10+ years of software quality engineering, automation engineering, SDET, or software engineering experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise automation frameworks.
• Deep expertise with automation technologies including Selenium, Playwright, Tricentis Tosca, Cypress, Appium, API Automation frameworks.
• Extensive experience with Azure DevOps (ADO), qTest, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Strong programming skills in Java, C#, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or similar.
• Experience implementing automation solutions for web, API, microservices, cloud-native, and distributed applications.
• Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, CI, Continuous Testing, and Continuous Delivery practices.
• Excellent communication, leadership, consulting, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute Humana's enterprise automation architecture strategy and roadmap to drive scalable, standardized, and innovative quality engineering solutions across the organization.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable automation frameworks using Selenium, Playwright, Tosca, REST Assured, Cypress, Appium, and related tools.
• Build and enhance automation solutions that support testing across cloud-native, microservices, API-first, web, mobile, and distributed application architectures.
• Develop reusable automation components, libraries, utilities, templates, and accelerators to improve delivery efficiency and consistency.
• Implement and maintain automation integrations within CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and other enterprise delivery platforms.
• Drive continuous improvements in automation stability, maintainability, execution speed, and overall test effectiveness.
• Integrate automation solutions with Azure DevOps, qTest, Tosca, Jira, and CI/CD ecosystems.
• Enable end-to-end traceability across requirements, user stories, test cases, automation assets, defects, releases, and production outcomes.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to Quality Engineers, SDETs, Automation Engineers, and development teams.
• Create and maintain automation standards, best practices, technical documentation, playbooks, and training materials.
