Job summary

Ilocatum in Rochester Hills is seeking an experienced automotive technician to diagnose and repair vehicles with an emphasis on quality over speed. The shop operates Monday–Friday, offering a clear path from A-Level Technician to Lead Technician, Shop Foreman, or Technical Manager as the business grows.

The role pays $45–$55/hour with weekly pay; includes PTO, paid sick time, holidays, health benefits, and a signing/retention bonus up to $5,000.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional automotive repair experience.
• Strong diagnostic and electrical abilities.
• A-Level/Master mechanical skills.
• Transmission experience strongly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and own professional tools.
• ASE certifications preferred, but proven ability matters more.

Responsibilities

• Advanced vehicle diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting.
• Drivability concerns.
• Transmission diagnosis, repair, and replacement.
• Engine diagnosis and major mechanical repair.
• Complex repairs other technicians may not be equipped to handle.
• General A-Level automotive repair when needed.
