Job summary

Sunset Porsche Audi in Beaverton, OR is seeking a Shop Foreman to oversee daily shop operations. You will supervise a team, ensure timely, high-quality work, and maintain equipment and inventory.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical knowledge, leadership and communication skills, and the ability to read blueprints and manuals. DOT/OSHA safety standards familiarity is required, with Audi brand experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
• 5+ years in a shop environment with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong mechanical and technical knowledge relevant to the automotive industry.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Proficient in using shop tools, equipment, and software for inventory and scheduling.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and best practices.
• Preferred: Certification in a relevant trade or technical field; experience with Audi brand.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate shop employees, assigning tasks based on project priorities.
• Ensure all work is completed on time and meets quality and safety standards.
• Monitor and maintain shop tools, equipment, and inventory.
• Train and mentor employees to improve efficiency and skill level.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and technical issues, providing guidance and solutions.
• Communicate with management and other departments to ensure workflow efficiency.
• Enforce company policies and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other relevant standards.
• Conduct inspections and quality control checks on completed work.
• Maintain accurate records of work orders, maintenance schedules, and employee performance.
• Assist in hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations of shop personnel.
