Job summary

Sonic Automotive is seeking a Shop Foreman for the Audi Owings Mills shop in Owings Mills, MD to direct technicians, manage workflow, and ensure repairs meet time schedules and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of automotive mechanical experience and at least 1 year of supervisory experience, along with strong communication and leadership skills; a valid driver’s license is required. Hourly compensation ranges from $50 to $70 per hour, based on experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of automotive mechanical experience.
• One year of supervisory experience.
• Working knowledge of Dealership Management computer systems.
• Problem-solving and repair experience.
• Highly motivated and energetic.
• Excellent communication and managerial skills.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assisting technicians in performing technical activities.
• Diagnose and repair to specifications – brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems.
• Adequately explains technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include employees and customers on an as-required basis.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive technology.
• Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect the shops' operations such as hazardous waste disposal, right-to-know, and environmental updates.
• Enforce safety requirements.
• Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all mechanical shop staff
