Job summary

Selective Insurance Company of America is seeking an experienced auto claims adjuster to investigate, negotiate, and conclude auto claims by settlement or denial. Responsibilities include reviewing policy forms, investigating claims, and updating the claims system to accurately reflect status.

Qualifications include knowledge of auto policy language, adjuster licenses, and strong customer service and negotiation skills. A college degree is preferred with 1–5 years of auto experience.

Qualifications

• Understanding of Commercial and Personal Auto policy language and endorsements.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Damage evaluation and negotiation skills (review and writing of estimates, contents replacement, etc).
• Adjuster licenses in states requiring same (obtain within 3 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Independently review policy forms to determine appropriate coverage and deductibles.
• Investigate claims through various communication channels with claim parties.
• Review damage documentation to determine loss amount and negotiate settlements.
• Update the claims system to reflect status and determine negligence charges.
• Escalate salvage and subrogation opportunities and detect fraud.
• Coordinate with vendors to manage rental car costs and salvage processes.
• Ensure claims comply with company, state and federal regulations.
