Job summary

Withum is seeking a Senior Auditor to base out of the Houston, TX office. You will lead all aspects of audit engagements from planning through completion, supervise staff, and build client relationships with a collaborative, team‑oriented approach.

You will work with seasoned CPAs to deliver high‑quality attest services across industries, ensuring adherence to US GAAP and regulatory requirements while mentoring junior staff and contributing to practice development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
• Licensed CPA or working towards CPA certification.
• At least 2 years of public accounting experience with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
• Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills with familiarity with US GAAP.
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with ability to develop and maintain client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engagement team staff on the planning and execution of an audit, review or compilation engagement to provide world-class client service.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the audit engagement from staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork and financial reporting.
• Provide supervision and support to engagement staff and maintain open communication with the engagement manager and partner.
• Collaborate with managers and partners on client issue resolutions and advise on legal, regulatory and accounting issues as they arise.
• Review all scheduled and non-scheduled general ledger accounts for accurate entries.
• Manage multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to meet client deadlines.
• Create and track engagement budgets to identify inefficiencies.
• Discuss staff evaluations and provide coaching as needed.
• Participate in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader.
