Distinct | North America in Warrington, PA is recruiting for a CPA firm with 40 people and 5 partners. They offer 35-hour weeks most of the year, with 55-60 during busy season, and hybrid work arrangements.
You'll handle audits for nonprofits, family businesses, manufacturers and service firms, with potential for Manager-level progression. Salary ranges from $70,000 to $90,000 plus bonuses, and a culture that values work-life balance.
35 hour weeks for much of the year. $90k earning potential. And a firm where becoming Manager is a realistic conversation, not something they dangle in front of you for the next 5 years.
Sounds pretty reasonable, doesn't it?
I'm working with a 40 person CPA firm in Warrington that has been growing steadily, largely through referrals. They've got more work coming in, 5 partners, and a genuine need for people who want to progress.
And here's what I particularly like about them.
They don't expect you to live at your desk.
Yes, it's public accounting. Busy season still exists. You'll typically work 55 to 60 hours during the busiest 8 weeks. I'm not going to pretend otherwise.
But outside of those periods? You're generally looking at 35 hour weeks, with some 40 hour weeks around deadlines.
They're flexible with schedules, offer hybrid working, and understand that you've got a life outside of audit.
The other big selling point is progression.
The firm is growing without having to chase new clients, and they're thinking seriously about the next generation of leadership.
If you want to become a Manager, there's a reason to have that conversation here. If you're happy being a really good Senior, that's fine too.
You'll work with a mixture of nonprofits, family businesses, manufacturers and service companies. It's a smaller firm, so you'll actually get to know your clients rather than being another name on an engagement.
A few other things worth knowing:
Ideally, you'll have 3+ years of public accounting audit experience, including nonprofit clients. CPA or equivalent preferred. Experience with Form 990s, particularly 990PF, would be useful.
