Novogradac is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage a range of audit and attest engagements within its Tax/Audit practice. The role emphasizes supervision of staff, problem solving, client relationships, and profitability improvement, with time split toward audit-focused work.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in accounting/finance, 2–3 years in public accounting, and is pursuing CPA credentials. Strong Excel and communication skills are essential, with flexibility for evenings, weekends,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; advanced degree a plus.
• Strong understanding of accounting and auditing rules.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate intellectual curiosity.
• Detail-oriented with strong attention to accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and follow-through skills.
• Able to prioritize a fast-paced, varied workload and manage shifting priorities.
• Willing to accept feedback from management and adjust accordingly.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Ability to meet internal deadlines (time entry, billing, etc.).
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends and travel domestically if required.

Responsibilities

• Complete audit and/or attest projects for designated clients with minimal oversight.
• Conduct thorough engagement reviews.
• Take increasing responsibility for engagement management.
• Identify potential issues and propose solutions.
• Perform research, analyze data, and prepare reports with recommendations.
• Build and maintain client relationships through professionalism and responsiveness.
• Pursue additional training to enhance industry knowledge.
• Help increase team profitability by efficient time management and contributing ideas.
• Supervise and mentor Staff Accountants.
• If needed, work toward obtaining a CPA license.
• Undertake other duties and projects as assigned.
