Job summary

Venteon is assisting a rapidly growing Michigan CPA firm in recruiting a high-energy Senior Manager, Audit & Assurance who will lead complex engagements from planning through completion and mentor staff.

The role emphasizes client service, strong GAAP/GAAS/SSARS expertise, and the ability to build trusted relationships across teams, with HUD, employee benefit plan, and not-for-profit audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Master's degree in Accounting or Business preferred.
• Active CPA license.
• 5+ years of public accounting experience focusing on audit and assurance.
• 5+ years' experience with HUD, Employee Benefit Plan, and Not-for-Profit audits.
• Supervisory/ managerial experience in public accounting with multiple engagements.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, GAGAS, and SSARS.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and project management skills.
• Ability to lead, build client relationships, and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage audit, review, and compilation engagements from planning through completion, ensuring quality and compliance with applicable GAAP, GAAS, GAGAS, SSARS, and firm standards.
• Direct assurance engagements for HUD, Employee Benefit Plans, and Not-for-Profit organizations, as well as privately held businesses.
• Review workpapers, financial statements, reports, and other engagement deliverables prepared by staff and senior associates, providing clear and constructive feedback.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients, building strong relationships and understanding their business and service needs.
• Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and contribute to business development, proposals, and community engagement.
• Stay current on changes in accounting, auditing, and regulatory standards and communicate relevant updates to clients and internal teams.
• Mentor, train, and evaluate audit staff and senior associates while supporting their professional growth and development.
• Collaborate with tax and advisory professionals to deliver integrated solutions and a high level of client service.
