Job summary

Newburg CPA is seeking an experienced senior-level accounting professional to join our Audit & Assurance team on a full-time basis. You will work closely with partners and clients, playing an integral role in planning, executing, and completing assurance engagements for privately held domestic and international businesses, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals.

The role includes supervising staff, mentoring junior accountants, preparing financial statements, and presenting findings.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years of experience in public accounting with increasing responsibility.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred; licensure with professional bodies preferred.
• Experience planning and executing audit engagements and supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and conduct audits, reviews, compilations, and other assurance or attest engagements under the direction of a manager or director
• Develop and complete audit risk assessments and conduct audit planning, including client communication, internal control evaluations, and development of risk-based audit programs
• Prepare reports and communicate findings to the engagement team
• Prepare and review financial statements
• Supervise, mentor, and assist in the development of staff accountants
• Communicate effectively with the engagement supervisor, manager, partner, and client
• Demonstrate competency in technical skills, work quality, and application of professional and firm standards, including AICPA, FASB, GASB, and GAAP standards
• Conduct research and prepare memoranda outlining findings and conclusions
• Communicate directly with existing clients via meetings, email, and conference calls
• Review and/or prepare various tax returns and financial statements for certain assurance clients
