Abacus Group is assisting a public accounting client in hiring a Senior Audit Associate for Financial Services in Manhattan, NY. The role focuses on performing audits, preparing work papers, and presenting financial statements to clients and colleagues.

Travel to client sites is required. A bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of public accounting experience are required; CPA is preferred. Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and PCAOB standards and asset management experience are important.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and skillfully performing audits
• Preparing audit work papers and adjusting trial balances
• Utilizing time management to plan and schedule client engagements
• Assembling trial balances and compiling financial statements into a written report to be presented
• Effectively communicating the accuracy of financial statements and other financial information to clients and co-workers
• Continuously fostering relationships with coworkers and clients
• Traveling to some client sites

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• 3-5 years of experience working for a public accounting firm
• Asset management industry experience
• Knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and PCAOB auditing standards
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with Excel
• CPA preferred
