Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) invites applications for the Senior Attorney position in the Office of General Counsel. The role focuses on administrative prosecutions related to CJSTC licensure and involves coordination with regional offices and HQ in Tallahassee.

The incumbent will review officer discipline cases, handle probable cause, settlements, and final actions, while providing legal services to staff and occasionally delivering training.

Qualifikationen

• Member of the Florida bar for two or more years.
• Two or more years of experience as a law enforcement agency legal advisor, prosecutor, or similar criminal justice work.
• Knowledge of Florida criminal law and evidence; ability to generate training materials and present them.

Aufgaben

• Evaluate and prosecute violations of state law and administrative rules by certified officers in administrative actions before the CJSTC.
• Evaluate cases for probable cause; negotiate settlements; prepare for hearings; present cases for CJSTC action.
• Provide legal services and advice to the staff of the FDLE CJ professionalism program.
• Occasionally provide legal training and presentations.
• Occasional in-state travel may be required.
• Maintain good computer skills (MS Word, Acrobat, PowerPoint) and communicate effectively.
