Job summary

Cook County Health & Hospitals System in Chicago is seeking an Attending Physician VI for primary care to provide ambulatory and inpatient adult care. You will educate medical trainees, participate in quality improvement, and contribute to program development within General Internal Medicine.

The role requires MD or DO, Illinois license, board certification/eligibility in Internal Medicine, and the ability to work varied hours with travel across Cook County sites.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited college or university.
• Board certification in Internal Medicine prior to starting employment OR Board eligibility in Internal Medicine and obtain Board certification within two years of starting employment.
• Licensed as a Physician and Surgeon in the State of Illinois prior to starting employment.
• Must be cleared for privileges by Medical Staff Services by start of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provides general medical ambulatory and inpatient care to adults.
• Educates medical trainees including medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Participates in quality improvement and quality assurance activities.
• Completes all clinical administrative duties which accounts for 80-90% of workflow.
• Attends up to four to eight weeks per year in the inpatient setting.
