Job summary

Cook County Health & Hospitals System invites applications for the Attending Physician, ACHN-Bilingual. This part-time role provides care within the Ambulatory & Community Health Network, serving diverse communities and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

The position requires MD or DO, Illinois license eligibility, and bilingual Spanish proficiency. Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Pediatrics is expected within two years of hire.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Illinois physician license or eligibility two weeks prior to hire date.
• Illinois and Federal controlled substance license or eligibility two weeks prior to hire date.
• Board eligibility or certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Pediatrics; board certification within two years of hire.
• Completion of a residency in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Pediatrics at least 30 days prior to starting employment.
• Bilingual Spanish required; testing minimum score of 3 will be administered.

Responsibilities

• Delivers direct patient care sessions per week as assigned.
• Works as part of the healthcare team, collaborating with mid-level providers.
• Participates in staff and related meetings.
• Completes clinical duties in a timely fashion, including charting visits.
• Participates in teaching activities for medical students, residents, and other health professionals.
• Maintains continuing medical education (CME) and participates in other professional activities.
• Works varying hours as determined by clinic and needs.
