Job summary

Cook County Health & Hospitals System is seeking an Attending Physician X in Medicine (Oncology) to lead inpatient and outpatient oncology care and supervise trainees. The physician will participate in clinical trials and provide high-quality, compassionate care across hospital sites.

Board-eligible or board-certified in Hematology/Oncology is required, with Illinois license in advance of start date. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential in a busy academic hospital setting.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited college; proof required at interview.
  • Illinois medical license prior to start date.
  • Board certification by ABIM in hematology/oncology or eligibility within 2 years.
  • Must be cleared for privileges by Medical Staff Services by start of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides inpatient, outpatient, and consultative care in oncology and/or hematology and supervising trainees.
  • Supervises and trains hematology/oncology subspecialty fellows; supervises residents and students.
  • Maintains accurate medical records and billing documentation.
  • Participates in division performance improvement and clinical trials across the hospital system.
  • Attends meetings and participates on committees as assigned.
