Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids is seeking an experienced engineer to develop and maintain Automated Test Equipment (ATE) software and fixtures for a factory environment. You will collaborate with PCB and mechanical designers and support cradle-to-grave test systems from requirements through maintenance.

The role emphasizes interfacing test software with hardware, adhering to manufacturability and serviceability standards, and working with global teams to meet schedule targets.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a US DoD security clearance.
• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 5+ years relevant experience or an Advanced Degree with 3+ years.
• Experience developing and maintaining ATE test hardware and software for a factory/production environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ATE test software for a factory/production environment.
• Develop and maintain ATE fixtures through circuit design, cable design, connector strategies, and top-level fixture design; review with PCB/mechanical designers.
• Support cradle-to-grave efforts including requirements, design, integration, validation, verification, and maintenance of test hardware and software.
• Design high quality solutions that meet cost and schedule targets.
• High focus on DFM/DFS standards (Design for Manufacturability / Design for Serviceability).
• Troubleshoot software and hardware as part of an integration team.
• Communicate effectively with global engineering, operations, service and program leadership.
