Job summary

Renesas is seeking a Senior Staff Test Engineer to define long-term ATE roadmaps and architect scalable hardware/software testing platforms. You will lead cross-functional collaborations across Product, Quality, Design, and Validation engineering to drive test strategy from initial product definition through global production release.

You will oversee complex qualification, characterization, and cross-platform correlation for cutting-edge power delivery technologies, while mentoring engineers

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; 10+ years semiconductor experience at Staff/Senior Staff level
• ATE mastery: 10+ years architecting automated test solutions on high-end ATE platforms (Advantest V93K, COHU Diamondx, SPEA DOT800, ETS364)
• 8+ years hands-on ATE test development for complex analog, digital, high-power, and mixed-signal ICs; experience with high-performance digital power or multi-die modules is desirable
• Proficiency in C++ and Python; history of production-grade code templates, test APIs, and automation libraries
• Benchmarking, debugging, and characterization using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and source measure units
• Hardware design of high-performance ATE loadboards/probe cards with signal integrity and high-current power delivery
• Strong communication and influence to align roadmaps and work with external technical teams
• Willingness to travel 0-10% for global manufacturing and vendor sites

Responsibilities

• Define and execute strategic test roadmaps for next-gen ATE solutions
• Architect standardized software frameworks and hardware architectures for scalability
• Lead quality planning with hardware/software architectural reviews and DFT guidelines
• Own product qualification, characterization, and cross-platform correlation for power delivery technologies
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Operations to enable smooth production ramps
• Provide executive-level oversight on yield optimization, cost reduction, and critical customer issues
• Mentor staff to junior engineers and foster technical excellence
• Manage 3rd-party relationships, foundry partnerships, and OSAT teams
