Job summary

Sorren in Petaluma, CA is seeking an experienced Assurance professional to lead complex audits and reviews for diverse clients. You will apply GAAP/GAAS knowledge, plan engagements, manage budgets and staffing, and mentor junior team members to uphold quality and client service.

The role requires 5–10 years in assurance, CPA eligibility, and a bachelor’s in accounting. Strong leadership, communication, and project management are essential as you drive growth and excellence at Sorren.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• CPA license or eligibility is required or in progress.
• 5–10 years of assurance-related experience.
• Strong knowledge of audit standards and financial reporting.
• Ability to manage complex engagements and mentor staff.
• Proficient with audit software and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage a variety of complex assurance projects, including audits, reviews, and agreed-upon procedures.
• Apply GAAP, GAAS, and other frameworks to assess risks and guide strategy.
• Plan engagements, budgets, staffing, and scope; adjust programs as needed.
• Supervise, train, and mentor team members to ensure growth and performance.
• Monitor project progress to meet deadlines and profitability targets.
• Review workpapers and financial statements for accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare management letters and proposals for new assurance work.
• Communicate effectively with clients and teammates about statuses and issues.
• Foster client relationships and contribute to professional development.
• Demonstrate time management and flexibility to handle multiple engagements.
• Meet annual billable hour targets and uphold firm productivity.
