Job summary

Ares is seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate to join its Investment Operations team to support the private debt platform. You will play a key role in onboarding investments, ensuring data accuracy, and aligning documentation with systems from day one.

The role requires credit expertise, analytical problem-solving, and collaboration across Investment, Legal, Compliance, Fund Accounting, and Technology. You will help shape onboarding processes and data governance to scale the platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or another business-related discipline.
• Minimum 5-7 years in investment operations, middle office, or asset data management within credit-focused teams.
• Experience reading and operationalizing complex legal documents (credit agreements, amendments, funding notices).
• Hands-on experience with DealCloud, AlphaStream, or comparable platforms.
• Strong PowerPoint skills for polished presentations and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret complex investment documentation to extract economic, legal, and operational terms.
• Lead the setup and onboarding of new private debt investments across internal systems.
• Capture and maintain critical deal and security-level data (issuer, borrower, facility type, spread, rates, maturity, etc.).
• Collaborate with Compliance on legal entity structures and governance data.
• Work with Portfolio Managers, Traders, and investment professionals to ensure timely onboarding and data accuracy.
• Develop and maintain operating procedures, data standards, and control checklists.
• Partner with Technology to enhance onboarding workflows and reduce manual processes.
• Produce management reporting and metrics on onboarding timeliness and data quality.
