Ares Management in New York seeks a Senior Associate to join its U.S. Direct Lending team. You will manage the full investment lifecycle from origination to portfolio management and interact with investment committee and senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or international equivalent.
• 4-5 years of relevant experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity or Credit.
• Experience in Leveraged Finance or Private Credit preferred.
• Advanced Excel modeling and PowerPoint skills.
• Strong investment judgment, integrity and ability to manage complex workstreams independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed fundamental credit analysis underpinning new debt and/or equity investment decisions.
• Screen new opportunities and assess business quality, industry dynamics, credit risks and transaction structure.
• Build complex Excel models covering cash flow, debt sizing, capital structure, downside scenarios and investment returns.
• Prepare and present investment committee memoranda.
• Monitor investment performance, maintain valuations, and track company/industry developments.
• Negotiate and review legal documentation, and lead investment closings.
• Manage a substantial portfolio of investments and mentor junior investment professionals.
