Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking an Associate for Transformation Services within the PEPI practice, open to all U.S. locations.

The role focuses on identifying and implementing operating expense reduction opportunities across portfolio companies, with opportunities for advancement and cross‑functional exposure. Ideal candidates have 2–4 years of consulting experience, a bachelor’s degree, and an industry specialization is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• 2–4 years of professional industry or consulting experience implementing operating expense cost reduction programs.
• Depth in a particular industry vertical is a plus (e.g., industrial, business services, distribution, consumer products and retail).

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering large, complex client engagements with Private Equity leadership to identify, design, and implement cost-reduction solutions.
• Structure performance improvement plans and manage processes through to completion.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities by reorganizing leadership, staffing, back‑office functions, and improving efficiency.
• Synthesize insights from data and facts to improve EBITDA and operating performance.
• Develop findings and make strategic recommendations.
• Gain hands-on experience through projects in margins, pricing, supply chain, organizational structure, non-labor cost efficiency, and KPIs.
