Responsibilities

• Ensure timely completion of daily operational tasks.
• Escalate failures of core systems, networks, and data feeds.
• Coordinate with Members, Liquidity Providers, Central Banks, RTGS operators and Nostros.
• Produce regular internal/external reports in various formats.
• Support Strategy and Change Management initiatives.

• Functional Title: Senior Associate, Operations - Night Shift
• Department: Operations
• Reports To: Vice President, Operations - EMEA Shift
• Location: New Jersey (night shift)
• Expected full-time salary range between $88,000 - 100,000 + variable compensation + 401(k) match + benefits.
• Note: Disclosure as required by NY Pay Transparency Law of the expected salary compensation range for this role.

What you will be doing

• Effectively monitor the CLS production and testing (JAS) services operating Sunday to Friday, 12:00am – 08:00am est
• Primarily monitoring the settlement service during the funding and settlement window and escalating any non-performance, ensuring settlement and funding completes within the set deadlines
• Executing failure management scenarios in the event of settlement and funding not competing within the set deadlines, often working within time sensitive deadlines
• Ensure the timely completion of scheduled operational tasks and system events as per the daily operational checklist
• Escalate any failure of any of the Core systems and its packages, any of the business systems, any of the communications networks (SWIFT FIN, SWIFT NET, AMH and Kyndryl Global Network) and any data feeds.
• Liaising with Members, Liquidity Providers, Central Banks, RTGS system operators and Nostros regarding testing and trialing activities, failure of processes/systems and day to day operational processes
• Monitor key deadlines, including opening / closing of RTGS systems and service specific timeline activities, ensuring successful completion against expectations
• Provide excellent client service to CLS’ existing and potential customers
• Adhere to the CLS policies & procedures, including Compliance guidelines and maintaining a thorough knowledge of OFAC and AML requirements
• Support the CLS test services in-line with current live operational procedures, working closely with other departments to ensure all User Acceptance Testing is performed and delivered on time
• Perform project work as required, supporting the Strategy and Change Management Team on growth and improvement initiatives by providing operational input and support, conducting testing, updating procedures, etc
• Develop strong relationships with other key departments within CLS. This includes Operations Management, our London counterparts, Risk, Compliance, Legal and Sales
• Produce and distribute regular internal and external facing reports in various formats, e.g. Word/Excel/Email
• Follow established policies and procedures and contributes to implementing new policies and procedures as required
• Following the occurrence of a service‑related incident, work to enhance controls, and improve our ability to deliver against the CLS timeline
• Contribute to the successful execution of the Operations Strategy and Continuous Improvement Plan
• Provide support and Operational input to the key CLS Strategic Initiatives as required

What we’re looking for

• Thorough knowledge of international payment operations
• Understanding of payments systems and their interface packages. Will have worked in a high value, (high volume) time critical processing environment
• Thorough knowledge of trade input, confirmation matching (manual and electronic), reconciliations and SSI’s
• Will have dealt with customers and other third parties directly
• Experienced in (complex) query resolution
• Hands on Microsoft experience including Windows and Office
• Working knowledge and understanding of SWIFT network and terminology
• Experience of working with trouble ticketing / problem management system (desirable)
• Strong academic background, preferably in Finance, Economics or Math
• Experience providing key operational services, preferably in a global environment
• Will have worked in a high volume, high value, time critical processing environment
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business or finance related subject
• Experience in a banking environment, preferably encompassing all aspects of front, middle and back-office processing
