Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal in Washington, DC seeks a Senior Associate in M&A and Performance Improvement within its Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice. You will lead workstreams, build client-ready analyses, and support integration, carve-out, and value-improvement engagements across the deal lifecycle.

Expect significant client interaction, growth opportunities, and a strong emphasis on financial modeling and collaboration with senior professionals. Travel up to 75% may be required.

Qualifications

• Excellent fact-gathering, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in M&A, private equity or corporate development is preferred.
• Strong analytical toolkit including financial modeling and Excel.
• Ability to lead client interactions and present findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide service excellence by identifying key client issues and owning deliverables across workstreams.
• Develop and validate analyses, and translate outputs into actionable insights for clients.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration and support leadership development within the team.
• Maintain executive-ready deliverables such as synergy and performance models, TSA governance, and integration trackers.
