Job summary

Ares Management LLC is seeking a Senior Associate in Los Angeles or New York for the Investment Operations team. You will serve as a senior escalation point for complex cash, par, and non-custody reconciliations, driving cross-functional resolution and improvements across funds and products.

The role requires technical judgment and the ability to influence stakeholders while guiding junior team members. The candidate will partner with Technology and business stakeholders to implement scalable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
• 6-10 years of investment operations experience with reconciliation, fund accounting, middle office, custody, or related functions.
• Experience resolving complex operational exceptions and influencing stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior escalation point for complex cash, par, and non-custody breaks across funds, portfolios, and products.
• Drive resolution through root-cause analysis, ownership, and cross-functional coordination.
• Review and challenge fund administrator, custodian bank, and service-provider processing where results are incomplete or inconsistent.
• Assess transaction, accounting, reference-data, and system issues and communicate operational risks and actions.
• Prioritize high-risk exceptions and escalate with complete supporting evidence.
• Analyze KPIs to identify trends across break volumes, aging, and root causes.
