Job summary

Ares Management Corporation is seeking a Vice President to join the Investment Operations team, based in Los Angeles or New York. The role reports to the Principal of Investment Operations – Reconciliation Team and focuses on monitoring and resolving cash and par discrepancies between banks and paying agents.

The candidate will oversee reconciliations, drive process improvements, develop KPIs, and coordinate with internal/external stakeholders to strengthen controls and technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or other business-related discipline.
• 10–12 years of investment management operations experience with emphasis on reconciliation.
• Strong knowledge of credit/fixed income, derivatives, FX; experience with bank debt/high yield/alt credit a plus.
• Familiarity with financial intermediaries (investment banks, prime brokers, etc.).
• Proficient in Outlook, Word, Wall Street Office and Geneva; PowerBI and Python a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cash and par reconciliation process; provide guidance and escalation for issues.
• Manage reconciliation across funds with custodians and paying agents.
• Coordinate with fund administrators and banks on process improvements and root cause fixes.
• Prepare KPIs daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly to track trends.
• Ensure strict controls; escalate and resolve breaks promptly.
• Support SOC 1 controls testing with internal/external audits.
• Collaborate with business units to improve workflows and risk mitigation.
