Job summary

Maravai LifeSciences seeks an Associate Director, Assistant General Counsel to lead commercial and IP licensing transactions, supporting the legal and business teams across the portfolio. This role requires crafting practical solutions balancing legal and business needs.

The successful candidate will manage negotiations, drive standard agreements, and ensure policy compliance while partnering with product, finance, and development teams to enable strategic growth.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate (JD) or foreign university equivalent and admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction required.
• 2-5+ years of relevant legal experience, including large law-firm or in-house commercial contracting.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication.
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to deliver results with limited resources under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key attorney for commercial and licensing transactions within Maravai LifeSciences portfolio.
• Support development and maintenance of standard forms of agreements and contract lifecycle processes.
• Advise on a broad range of transactions including licensing, distribution, and complex service agreements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, commercial, finance, R&D, and manufacturing.
• Monitor contract review processes and support dispute resolution and regulatory compliance.
