Lila Sciences is seeking an Associate Director/Director, Commercial Counsel to lead the structuring and negotiation of a wide range of commercial agreements, including SaaS, IP licensing, vendor, and joint development contracts. You will partner with science, engineering, business development, and operations to scale legal capabilities in a frontier AI-enabled environment.

The role requires a J.D. with active U.S.

Qualifications

• J.D. with bar admission in at least one U.S. state.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, and manage a broad range of commercial agreements (SaaS, IP licensing, vendor, partnership, and R&D)
• Provide pragmatic legal counsel to internal stakeholders across business, product, and science functions
• Advise on regulatory and ethical considerations related to AI use in science and commerce
• Build scalable legal processes and workflows using AI tools and automation
• Support strategic transactions and partnerships across new domains
