Job summary

LA28 in Los Angeles seeks a Senior Associate, EVS Spectator Communications to shape how millions of spectators experience the Games. You will craft clear, engaging messages guiding fans, volunteers, staff and operational partners, establishing spectator communications from the ground up.

You will work with cross-functional teams, translate plans into inclusive content, and develop training materials to prepare the workforce. This on-site role reports to EVS and aligns with LA28 standards.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience in communications, public relations, event communications or a closely related professional field.
  • Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills, with a proven ability to create clear, concise and engaging content for varied audiences.
  • Excellent English communication and presentation skills, with strong written and oral delivery, even under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and build credibility, respect and trust with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience in communications or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of spectator communications plans across every Event Visitor Services touchpoint.
  • Create clear, concise and engaging content for spectators, volunteers, staff and operational stakeholders across written, video and presentation formats.

Role Purpose

The Senior Associate, EVS Spectator Communications helps shape how millions of spectators experience the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. In the years leading up to the Games, you will create clear, engaging communications that guide fans, volunteers, staff and operational stakeholders, establishing the spectator communications approach from the ground up. Partnering across Event Visitor Services and cross-functional teams, you will turn operational plans into accessible, inclusive messages that help every visitor feel informed, welcome and ready to enjoy the Games.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and execution of spectator communications plans across every Event Visitor Services touchpoint.

Required Competencies
  • Proven experience (4+ years) working in communications, public relations, event communications or a closely related professional field.

  • Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills, with a proven ability to create clear, concise and engaging content for varied audiences.

  • Excellent English communication and presentation skills, with strong written and oral delivery, even under tight deadlines.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and build credibility, respect and trust with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience, with relevant qualifications in communications or a related field preferred.

Valued Experience
  • Experience within an international sports or major events organization.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office for content and project delivery.

  • Strong attention to detail and high standards for quality.

  • Skilled at managing multiple detailed tasks under tight timelines.

  • Knowledge of local Los Angeles culture and communities.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office.

  • The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.

  • The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.

  • Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.

  • Perform other duties as required; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this position is $73,000 - $98,000. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28's operational business needs and applicable law.
