Job summary

The Boise, ID office of a leading law firm seeks a senior associate to join its Environment, Energy & Resources practice. You will lead complex energy transactions, advise on regulatory matters, and collaborate with renowned partners on digital infrastructure and energy transition initiatives.

Candidates should have 6+ years of energy-law experience, a JD from an accredited school, and bar admission in the jurisdiction.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of energy law experience.
• Proven ability to manage complex transactions and regulatory filings independently.
• Deep knowledge of energy regulatory frameworks and power markets.

Responsibilities

• Lead data center power transactions, drafting and negotiating power purchase agreements and interconnection arrangements.
• Provide strategic advice on electric market design issues within RTOs/ISOs.
• Represent clients before FERC and advise on market-based rate compliance.
• Counsel clients on energy policy, renewable integration, and carbon-free procurement strategies.
• Participate in client relationship management and contribute to thought leadership in digital/energy infrastructure.
• Mentor associates within the practice group and supervise quality of work.
