Job summary

BCG Attorney Search seeks a senior associate in Chicago to lead matters at the intersection of digital infrastructure and energy transition within the Environment, Energy & Resources practice.

The candidate will manage significant transactions, advise on market design, and represent clients before FERC, collaborating with renowned partners. JD required, 6+ years in energy law, and admission to practice in the jurisdiction or eligible for waiver.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in energy law.
• Ability to manage complex transactions and regulatory filings independently.
• Deep knowledge of the Federal Power Act and wholesale power markets.
• Collaborative self-starter with leadership and negotiation strengths.

Responsibilities

• Lead data center power transactions, drafting and negotiating power purchase agreements and interconnection arrangements.
• Provide strategic advice on electric market design issues within RTOs/ISOs, focusing on capacity market mechanisms and interconnection policies.
• Represent clients in proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and advise on compliance with market-based rate programs.
• Counsel clients on emerging energy policy, renewable energy integration, and carbon-free energy procurement strategies.
• Participate in client relationship management and contribute to thought leadership in digital and energy infrastructure.
• Mentor associates within the practice group, ensuring excellence in work product and professional development.
