Job summary

Cytel is seeking an Associate Director of Epidemiological Statistical Programming in New Jersey to lead senior statistical programmers, drive complex epidemiological analyses, and mentor a team. You will oversee SAS and/or R workflows, coordinate cross-functional efforts, and ensure high-quality outputs for real-world evidence studies.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of statistical programming experience in pharma/biotech/CRO environments.
• Experience leading epidemiology/RWE programming projects and teams.
• Strong SAS and/or R programming, with reproducible workflows.
• Experience with large healthcare data sources (claims, EHRs, registries).
• Ability to mentor and coach junior staff and coordinate multi-project work.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and functional leadership to epidemiological programmers.
• Lead hands-on programming for epidemiological studies across multiple therapeutic areas.
• Develop, validate, and maintain SAS and/or R programs for analyses and data products.
• Collaborate with epidemiologists, statisticians, and data scientists to plan approaches.
• Oversee deliverables for accuracy, reproducibility, and timelines.
• Promote programming standards, reusable tools, and QA processes.
