Travelers is seeking an Associate Senior Counsel in California to handle a caseload of predominantly moderate to higher exposure matters, including Major Case litigation as needed. You will leverage your trial experience to advocate for clients and independently manage cases through trial or settlement.

You will conduct in-depth legal research, draft substantive pleadings, attend court events, and mentor less experienced attorneys while collaborating with experts to build strong strategies.

Qualifikationen

• Juris Doctorate and active licensing to practice law in required states.
• 4 years of practicing attorney experience with insurance defense emphasis.
• Ability to handle hearings, trials and dispositive motions; travel as needed.

Aufgaben

• Manage a caseload of moderate to high exposure cases, including Major Case matters.
• Apply trial experience to cases to verdict or negotiated resolution.
• Conduct advanced legal research and draft pleadings, briefs and discovery.
• Attend court events, depositions, and other proceedings independently.
• Provide case analysis and strategy recommendations to insured clients and partners.
• Collaborate with experts to develop case strategies and testimony.
• Mentor junior attorneys and support staff; participate in office initiatives.
• Utilize case management tech and pursue process improvements.
• Travel as required to meet business needs.
