Job summary

Brightcore Energy is seeking an Associate Counsel in New York to support geothermal, energy efficiency and solar verticals. You will draft, negotiate and manage a variety of project and commercial agreements, partnering with internal teams to mitigate legal risk and enable sustainable growth.

The role requires a NY license, 4–8 years of transactional experience, and a strong background in energy or construction law.

Qualifications

J.D. from an ABA-accredited US law school.
Active NY license to practice law (or waiver).
4–8 years of post-law school transactional experience.
Strong track record drafting, negotiating and reviewing commercial contracts.
Construction and/or energy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Draft, negotiate, and manage project and commercial agreements (EPC, O&M, subcontracts, vendor agreements, NDAs).
Manage contract lifecycle from negotiation to execution and compliance.
Support tax credit and incentive programs with finance and advisors.
Collaborate with internal teams to analyze and mitigate legal risks.
Stay updated on renewable energy regulations and ensure compliance.
Contribute across the legal department's initiatives including financing, M&A, governance and more.
Handle additional duties as assigned.
