Trout CPA is seeking a Senior Associate for its Client Accounting Services team, focusing on construction clients. You will manage day-to-day accounting, job costing, and WIP reporting while delivering accurate information for strategic decision-making.

You will work directly with contractors and business owners to improve processes, profitability, and financial visibility in a fast-paced environment, leveraging your CPA-track interest and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably with construction clients.
• Knowledge of construction accounting concepts including job costing and WIP reporting.
• Experience with leading accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, or similar.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and ability to manage multiple engagements.

Trout CPA is seeking a Senior Associate to join our Client Accounting Services (CAS) team and support construction clients through outsourced accounting, financial reporting, and advisory services.

In this role, you'll work directly with contractors, developers, and construction business owners to manage day-to-day accounting functions, job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, and financial analysis. You'll help clients make informed business decisions by delivering accurate financial information and identifying opportunities to improve processes and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounting functions for construction clients, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and month-end close
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports
• Maintain and analyze job costing data to support project profitability and decision-making
• Assist with work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, revenue recognition, and project tracking
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management initiatives
• Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll transactions
• Prepare and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational reportsCollaborate with project managers, business owners, and internal teams to address financial challenges and opportunitiesAssist clients with accounting system optimization, workflow improvements, and process enhancementsMentor and support team members as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably serving construction clients
• Knowledge of construction accounting principles, including job costing and WIP reporting
• Experience with QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, Sage 300 Timberline, Foundation, Knowify, or similar accounting software
• Strong understanding of financial statement preparation and account reconciliations
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• CPA certification or CPA-track preferred
