Job summary

Trout CPA in Lancaster, PA, is seeking a Senior Associate to join our Client Accounting Services team and support construction clients through outsourced accounting, financial reporting, and advisory services.

You will work directly with contractors, developers, and construction business owners to manage day-to-day accounting functions, job costing, WIP reporting, and financial analysis, helping clients make informed decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably serving construction clients.
• Knowledge of construction accounting principles, including job costing and WIP reporting.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, Sage 300 Timberline, Foundation, Knowify, or similar accounting software.
• CPA certification or CPA-track preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting functions for construction clients, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Maintain and analyze job costing data to support project profitability and decision-making.
• Assist with work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, revenue recognition, and project tracking.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management initiatives.
• Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll transactions.
• Prepare and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational reports.
• Collaborate with project managers, business owners, and internal teams to address financial challenges and opportunities.
• Assist clients with accounting system optimization, workflow improvements, and process enhancements.
• Mentor and support team members as needed.
