Job summary

Trout CPA is seeking a Senior Associate for its Client Accounting Services team, focusing on construction clients. You will manage day-to-day accounting, job costing, and WIP reporting while delivering accurate information for strategic decision-making.

You will work directly with contractors and business owners to improve processes, profitability, and financial visibility in a fast-paced environment, leveraging your CPA-track interest and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably with construction clients.
• Knowledge of construction accounting concepts including job costing and WIP reporting.
• Experience with leading accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, or similar.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and ability to manage multiple engagements.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting functions for construction clients, including general ledger maintenance and month-end close.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Maintain and analyze job costing data to support profitability decisions.
• Assist with WIP schedules, revenue recognition, and project tracking.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management initiatives.
• Review AP, AR, and payroll transactions.
• Prepare KPIs and operational reports; collaborate with project managers and owners.
• Assist with accounting system optimization and process improvements; mentor team members.
