Job summary

The Virginia Tech Department of Athletics seeks a Sr. Assoc. AD / Business Operations to oversee day-to-day fiscal activities, budgeting, and financial planning. This exempt role reports to the Athletics CFO and requires strong leadership and Excel expertise.

Responsibilities include procurement, financial reporting, support for affiliated organizations, and managing workflow across business services; nights and weekends as needed, with a focus on accurate decision support for senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in business/accounting or related field.
• Proven ability to build and implement strategic financial plans and convey concepts to senior leadership.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
• Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
• Strong financial planning, management, and analysis capabilities, providing decision support.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day fiscal activities including team budgeting and financial planning/analysis.
• Manage procurement, financial reporting, and affiliated organization support.
• Directly or indirectly supervise all business operations and services positions.
• Collaborate with senior administrators to communicate financial concepts and strategies.
