Job description

JLL empowers you to shape a brighter way. Our people at JLL are shaping the future of real estate for a better world by combining world class services, advisory and technology for our clients. We are committed to hiring the best, most talented people and empowering them to thrive, grow meaningful careers and to find a place where they belong. Whether you’ve got deep experience in commercial real estate, skilled trades or technology, or you’re looking to apply your relevant experience to a new industry, join our team as we help shape a brighter way forward.

Senior Associate, Transaction Management

We are seeking a Senior Associate, Transaction Management to join a JLL team responsible for supporting one of JLL’s largest global technology clients — a Fortune 100 technology company. This role requires strong project management skills and the ability to support complex real estate transactions, while communicating effectively with C-suite and senior corporate real estate decision-makers. You will be involved in all aspects of the evaluation, negotiation, and successful delivery of real estate services, interacting with the client independently on a daily basis with minimal oversight from the transaction manager or account lead.

Location: This role will be in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY; option for remote based on experience.

What this job involves

You will join a high performing, multi-disciplinary team to deliver Transaction Management solutions to one of JLL’s largest global technology clients. This client is known for pairing enormous scale with a fast-moving, founder-style culture — an ownership mentality, a healthy disregard for the impossible, and an unrelenting focus on the people who use its products. JLL’s team is expected to operate with the same energy, transparency, and bias for action.

Critical responsibilities include (but not limited to):
  • Provide general administrative support for the client’s real estate portfolio and all transactions, including lease renewals, new leases, acquisitions and dispositions
  • Manage all lease amendments, estoppels, landlord engagements, notices, and disputes
  • Track critical deadlines across the transaction lifecycle to ensure compliant, timely closure
  • Manage transaction paperwork and documentation, ensuring compliance requirements are met through closure
  • Liaise with brokers throughout the transaction process to support smooth, compliant and timely deal closure
  • Oversee flex office-related activities, such as workplace licenses
  • Conduct due diligence on the client’s M&A activity
  • Coordinate decommissioning and reinstatement activities with facilities management, IT/ET, design & construction, and operating companies
  • Manage smaller transactions independently, with oversight from the Transaction Manager or Account Lead on larger, more complex deals
  • Support Transaction Managers on more complex transactions and portfolio-wide initiatives
  • Prepare and present comprehensive transaction summaries, business cases and market overviews, including integration and coordination of real estate transaction terms, design and construction costs (capex), facility management costs (opex), IT/AV costs (capex and opex), and operating company financials/metrics
  • Cash flow and P&L analysis
  • Ad-hoc reporting and metrics
  • Raising the Bar Regularly liaise with peers to share best practices, and other key delivery partners from JLL and other service providers delivering integration, data integrity, and project and facilities management
  • Leverage JLL research team, bringing research insights, analytics and innovative ideas to regional client leadership
  • Leverage, invent and simplify best practices, including the continuous improvement of process, tools and templates
  • “See around corners” - providing actionable advice on mitigation of anticipated risks/taking advantage of opportunities
  • Proactively identify process inefficiencies, formulate and execute on implementation plans, followed by tracking and demonstrating results

Every day is different, and in all these activities, we’d encourage you to show your ingenuity — with deep respect for the client’s partners and colleagues at every turn, and an unwavering focus on the end user of the client’s products in every decision you make.

To apply you need to be / have:
