• Selects, develops, and motivates subordinate staff to ensure quality services and on-time performance.
• Plans, organizes, and manages the work of subordinates to meet agency requirements.
• Directs engineering activities within an agency's section, branch, or division.
• Develops and conducts a specific work program aligned with policies, priorities and budget.
• Manages budgets for an assigned unit and ensures expenses align with the budget.
• Represents the department in contacts with the public and officials.
• Oversees consulting engineer contracts and provides technical oversight.
