Job summary

UMass Amherst is seeking a Senior Assistant Director of Community College Outreach to lead undergraduate transfer recruitment and advising at BHCC and MBCC. The position is based across BHCC and MBCC campuses in Boston and involves coordinating with MassTransfer initiatives to build clear transfer pathways to UMass Amherst.

Responsibilities include campus outreach, data reporting, articulation and transfer credit guidance, and representing the university at fairs and events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least three years in admissions, advising, academic programs, or related field.
• Ability to travel and work weekends/evenings during recruitment travel season and application review season.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with strict attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with diverse populations of stakeholders.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain university credit card.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in counseling, higher education, or related field.
• Experience with transfer admissions, advising for transfer students, and use of CRM tools (e.g., Slate).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate transfer recruitment and advising for BHCC/MBCC with primary offices split between campuses.
• Develop resources and project plans to support transfer initiatives and partnerships.
• Collaborate with Enrollment Management Communications & Events to create targeted communications.
• Track cohorts, analyze data, and prepare reports for leadership.
• Advise students on majors, requirements, and transfer pathways; explain transfer credits.
• Represent the university at college fairs, recruitment events, and campus visits.
• Coordinate articulation agreements and transfer credit information.
• Support long-term recruiting goals and coordinate programs across campuses.
