Job summary

UC Santa Barbara's Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships seeks a Financial Aid Supervisor 1 to lead the Advisor unit. The role oversees performance evaluations, staffing, and policy compliance for federal, state, and university aid programs.

The Supervisor collaborates with senior management to plan staffing, ensure timely disbursements, and maintain accurate workflows while upholding regulatory requirements and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent experience.
• Two years financial aid experience with strong analytical and communication skills.
• Supervisory experience and knowledge of campus policy and regulations.
• Ability to analyze and interpret data.

Responsibilities

• 25% Managerial Planning and Administration - strategic planning and policy oversight.
• 20% Staff Supervision and Training - lead up to five financial aid professionals and evaluate performance.
• 10% Web & Systems Testing, Maintenance & Communication - maintain web services and system updates.
• 40% Student aid Programs - oversee federal, state and institutional aid programs and disbursements.
