Job summary

Stony Brook University seeks an Assistant Dean for Facilities and Operations to provide leadership for facilities, space, infrastructure, equipment, technology, and operational support across the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS).

This in-person role reports to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Operations and the CAS Dean, ensuring spaces are well planned, maintained, and aligned with college priorities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business Administration, Higher Education Administration, Facilities Management, Construction Management, or related field.
• Five years of full-time, relevant higher-education experience in operations or facilities management.

Responsibilities

• Lead facilities, space planning, renovations, service requests, staff relocations, and space assignments.
• Supervise direct reports including hiring, workload, performance and development.
• Coordinate with CAS and central campus offices to align spaces with college priorities.
• Manage renovation, infrastructure, and operational projects with scope, timelines, costs, and funding.
• Oversee equipment, AV, networking, and technology upgrades for academic, research, and admin units.
