Job summary

Dynalectric-Company is seeking an Assistant Controller to support the Finance Director and CFO in overseeing accounting operations in a publicly traded environment. The role focuses on US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and timely financial reporting while leading accounting processes and coaching a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including public or corporate accounting.
• 3–5 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and SOX compliance.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; ERP experience.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• CPA or CPA-eligibility and construction/electrical contracting industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing financial statements and management reporting packages.
• Support SOX compliance, control documentation, and testing activities.
• Coordinate audits, tax, and compliance schedules with internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist with forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses.
• Oversee general ledger activities and month-end close to ensure accuracy.
• Review journal entries, accruals, and complex transactions.
• Support project-based accounting, including job cost review and revenue recognition.
• Maintain accounting policies and procedures; drive process improvements.
• Support ERP enhancements, reporting improvements, and automation initiatives.
• Supervise accounting staff, including workload planning and professional development.
• Review payroll registers for accuracy and policy compliance.
