Job summary

The Nuclear Company is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead daily accounting operations, GAAP compliance, month‑end close, and the preparation of accurate financial statements. You will support the accounting and reporting needs of the nuclear services segment and partner with the Controller to implement stronger controls and scalable processes.

This hybrid role is based in Washington, DC or Columbia, SC, and requires collaboration with cross‑functional teams, mentoring staff, and driving

Qualifications

• Experience: 6–8+ years in accounting; corporate/public practice preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related.
• GAAP knowledge and financial reporting proficiency.
• Excel and ERP/Accounting software proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily accounting operations and month‑end close.
• Prepare accurate financial statements and reports.
• Support the nuclear services segment accounting and reporting needs.
• Strengthen internal controls and drive process improvements.
