Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens, Inc. seeks an Assistant Controller to lead the accounting function under the CFO and Controller. You will ensure GAAP compliance, coordinate annual audits and 990s, manage month-end closes, and supervise staff to deliver timely, accurate financial reporting.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting, with CPA preferred and a minimum of 7 years' experience, including proficiency in Excel and Microsoft tools. Nonprofit expertise is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
• Certified Public Accountant license is a plus (active or inactive) but not suspended.
• 7 years of experience or a combination of education and work experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word).

Responsabilités

• Maintain GAAP-compliant accounting systems and financial reporting.
• Prepare and coordinate annual GAAP audits and 990s.
• Supervise staff to ensure timely, accurate reporting.
• Handle journal entries and monthly/annual close processes.
• Prepare program financial reports for CFO and leadership.
