Job summary

Commonwealth Catholic Charities (CCC) is seeking an Assistant Controller to support all core accounting functions for a nonprofit, ensuring GAAP-compliant financial reporting and strong internal controls. The role includes audits, budgeting, staff oversight, and handling complex transactions.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in accounting, five years of experience with at least one year in supervision, and nonprofit accounting experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting required with five years of experience, including one year of supervisory experience.
• CPA Certification a plus.
• Nonprofit experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations: general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and month-end close processes.
• Ensure financial statements are accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant, with donor/grant requirements.
• Assist with audits, budgeting, and reports for leadership and the Board of Directors.
• Maintain internal controls and develop financial policies and process improvements.
• Assist with regulatory reports including IRS Form 990 and census reporting.
• Monitor restricted funds and donor-restricted net asset schedules.
