Job summary

Comunilife is seeking an experienced finance professional to join the Finance team in New York. The Assistant Controller will support the VP of Accounting in managing accounting operations, ensuring GAAP-compliant financial reporting, month-/year-end closes, and coordination of audits and tax returns.

The role requires a 4-year degree with at least 7 years of accounting/financial management experience; nonprofit background and CPA or master's degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance and/or accounting with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in accounting or financial management.
• CPA or master’s degree preferred and desirable in nonprofit finance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in month-end and year-end close processes and financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions including GL, AP/AR, payroll, and cash.
• Prepare and review bank reconciliations and maintain fixed assets schedule.
• Support budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses; coordinate audits and tax returns.
• Assist in development of accounting procedures and internal controls.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in finance and/or accounting

7 years’ experience in accounting or financial management

CPA or master’s degree preferred
