Job summary

Cerini & Associates, LLP is seeking an Assistant Controller to support outsourced accounting clients and work with senior staff to maintain accurate records, prepare reporting, and support day-to-day accounting functions. The role requires nonprofit accounting experience and 5+ years in accounting, including 2+ years in a senior/Assistant Controller capacity.

Proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks, and other accounting software is essential; strong communication and organization are a must.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in a senior/Assistant Controller role.
• Nonprofit accounting experience is required.
• Proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks, and other accounting software.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Track expenses, budgets, cash flow, receipts, and other accounting activity for clients.
• Assist with preparation of financial reports and analyses.
• Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Maintain and review general ledger activity.
• Assist with budgets and cash flow projections; support close processes.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations, statements, and supporting docs.
• Prepare subcontractor 1099s and IRS year-end reporting.
• Assist with audit packages and board reporting.
• Support and train junior staff; handle special projects as requested.
