Job summary

Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP is seeking an Assistant Controller to support the Controller in overseeing the Firm's accounting, AP operations, and financial reporting. You will work closely with attorneys and leadership to ensure accurate, compliant financial information and efficient operations across the firm.

The role emphasizes building strong supervisory experience, enhancing internal controls, and partnering with the Controller to manage vendor relations and system enhancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA designation strongly preferred.
• 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2–4 years in a supervisory or senior accounting role.
• Prior experience in a large law firm or professional services firm strongly preferred.
• Experience with Elite 3E software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general accounting functions, including GL, AP, cash management, fixed assets, and month-end close processes.
• Assist with management and oversight of the Firm’s Accounts Payable team.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Monitor and report budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses.
• Establish, monitor, and enforce internal control policies and procedures.
