Job summary

Interstate Equities Corporation (IEC) seeks an Asset Manager to oversee the Northern California and Washington portfolio, partnering with the Director of Asset Management to maximize asset performance and drive value creation. The role is based in San Francisco or Los Altos, with periodic travel to assets and primary office presence on Mon, Wed, and Fri.

The position requires a minimum of 5 years in asset management, multifamily experience, and strong analytical, budgeting, and communications

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in asset management for mid-large real estate organizations.
• Multifamily asset management experience.
• Experience with institutional investors and matrixed organizations requiring influencing skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Northern California portfolio and adjust based on acquisition activity.
• Maximize asset value and NOI with value-add strategies.
• Conduct regular financial reviews of property performance versus budget.
• Develop annual operating and capital expenditure budgets for assets.
• Monitor local markets and redirect resources as needed.
• Provide regular updates to leadership and joint venture partners.
• Plan and manage renovations within scope, time, and budget.
• Select design teams and contractors to achieve repositioning results.
• Lead the asset management process to improve portfolio performance.
• Collaborate with regional managers to set KPIs and policies.
• Conduct site visits to review curb appeal, marketing, expenses, and staffing.
• Evaluate operating efficiencies to boost NOI.
• Write quarterly asset management reports for investors.
• Analyze ESG initiatives as required.
